On June 17,1972, police arrested four burglars in the Democrat National Committee headquarters at the Watergate complex in Washington, DC. What were these burglars looking for? What did they steal? Those were the questions.

On August 9, 1974, in the second year of his second term in office, President Richard Nixon resigned in disgrace rather than face impeachment proceedings. It was merciful of him as the nation was still reeling from the uncovering of the Watergate scandal and closure seemed the best path forward to healing. Evidence had been uncovered that the burglars in the Watergate complex were there under the direction of the Nixon campaign, campaigning for his second term in the oval office. What were the burglars looking to steal? Evidence showed they had broken in to steal paper documents that would hopefully show enough dirt that Nixon's Democrat opponent for President, George  McGovern, could be successfully smeared out of the race.

Fast forward a bit shy of 50 years later, Special Counsel John Durham was appointed by Attorney General, Bill Barr, before Barr's retirement, to investigate the now debunked "evidence" of the Trump campaign's supposed "Collusion with Russia" that led to a two-year and two months long effort to remove our 45th President from office through impeachment proceedings. President Donald J. Trump was eventually acquitted of all charges, but why the charges in the first place? Enter Special Counsel, John Durham. "The wheels of justice grind slowly, but they grind exceedingly fine," quoth the sage. Both the "slowly" and the "exceedingly fine" seem to fit the Durham investigation right now. What is being uncovered has even those of us who suspected all along that "Russian Collusion" was a hoax reeling a bit. The investigation is still ongoing but even so, Durham has revealed that a tech agency was hired by the Clinton campaign to "break into" internet servers for the Trump campaign, Trump Tower and even the executive office of the President, Donald J. Trump. Why? Except for the purpose of finding enough dirt to successfully smear our President away and then out of office and any chance for a second term? Thus followed two years and two months of "Russian Collusion" hoax impeachment proceedings against President Trump that wasted thousands of hours of public service time, millions of dollars in taxpayer money and untold hours of media coverage that we now know were lies based on lies. "Adam Schiff alone," says Kayleigh McEnany, "logged 57 hours being on TV for interviews" Remember "shifty Schiff?" (Complements of one Donald J. Trump)

Though the Watergate break-in and the "Digitalspygate" break-in are very different in method, they appear alike in intent. To "smear" a political opponent for the sake of political advantage. Neither one serves any purposeful advantage to the American people whom these politicians are elected to work for. Both the Watergate scandal and the Digitalspygate scandal may have started with a curious "can we do this?" thought, but both ended up being self-serving and dishonest. The latter, however, didn't stop where Watergate stopped but went on to spy on a sitting President in the White House and to bring false accusations against him with slandering covered by mainstream media for two years and two months. That, where I went to school, was called treason and a threat to national security. And the slander continues, with any possible negative enhanced and the positives ignored. Our 45th President, Donald J. Trump, has his own faults and sin nature to deal with before God, as we all do. But, even as this nation's founders, it's clear that Trump understands the need to curb mankind's fallen nature. As President, Donald J. Trump came across as being genuine, authentic and sincere. Qualities that appear sadly but conspicuously lacking in all but a few across the aisle and in mainstream media these days.

Repentance is in order. May God revive us all as we allow Him to search and try us to see if there be any wicked way in each one of us personally and all of us corporately.

"Thou shalt not bear false witness ..." (Exodus 20:161) We need the Ten Commandments restored into public policy. Life Matters!
