Life Matters - January 29, 2025
January 20, 2025 is already proving to be a memorable, momentous day, in the history of America. DEI initiatives at major companies were being rolled back even before Inauguration Day in a correct anticipation of DEI falling into disfavor. Mr. Zuckerburg pledged to stop the censoring of politically conservative viewpoints begun by the Biden administration’s COVID “fact-checking” that soon morphed into the larger monster that one might refer to as ’woke-checking’ the voices of dissenters objecting to the ultra-liberal status quo. ‘’Protecting’’ those who feel “threatened” (i.e. convicted) in their perverse-to-God-and-nature lifestyles had somehow become the perverted duty of a perverse government. As well as “protecting” us from any COVID treatments that did not involve Big Pharma’s drugs and/or injections.
COVID, with its remote at-home “classroom” teaching gave many a shocked parent a front row seat to the perverse diversity equity inclusion agendas being foisted onto hapless children by the Teacher’s Unions via compliant school systems. Sandwiched into the expected and sensible academics teaching were lessons such as the “evils” of “white privilege” which proved to be a mere shift from white advantage pie-in-the-sky to green profit flowing into the organization coffers such as Black Lives Matter to advantage its wealthy organizers in a twisted call for equity i.e. Marxism.
The ’I’ in DEI has meant the inclusion of LGBTQ + whatever else agendas foisted onto whoever complies and loudly condemning those who don’t.
DEI, among other evils, meant focusing on skin colors, reminiscent of the Jim Crow era before Martin Luther King Jr. made his outspoken way into the corporate conscience of a guilty America. DEI meant distribution-of-wealth (with the exception of ‘’the elites’’—what else is new?) Marxism to replace the equal opportunity written into law by America’s founders. DEI taught that we are diverse, as represented by the color of our skin, that white-skinned people are over-privileged, that blacks are under-privileged, as are certain other minorities, and that the problem is whites refusing to acknowledge those two realities by “pretending” to be color-blind in their self-deception of equal opportunities. Smash and Grab robberies became the new reality for many an intimidated entrepreneur.
DEI meant equity over equality—socialism is good, capitalism is bad. Making sure everybody feels good about themselves became a government project foisted on Americans along various avenues, not the least of which became the replacing of merit-based grading of scores with meaningless participation acknowledgements and/or trophies.
DEI, in its blanket condemnation of whites and wealth surely had something redeemable in its last letter; did it not? After all, inclusion is a good thing, we all want to be included; right?
Included into the Kingdom of God is a good thing, the best there ever was and the best there ever will be. Included into an unlawful gangster mob is not a good thing nor ever will be. The hereafter will surely prove both those observations to be serious under-statements. We should be thankful, even leap for joy, when we are rejected by those who set themselves against God and His creation.
President Trump, praise the Lord, has rolled back the federal DEI agenda, saying that U.S. policy will again be merit-based, color-blind, and that there are only two genders, male and female. Not so many years ago those three subjects were not being talked about much, as those beliefs were the accepted norm, but this is where we are as many no longer have that keen sense of the obvious.
I am thankful for the election of President Donald J. Trump and for the members of his new administration even though he took away our keen and common-sense South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem to lead the Department of Homeland Security. She did a good job here and I believe she will do a good job there as well.
It would be good to know that political and major company leaders (incl. Mark Zuckerburg) have had an epiphany that awakened in them all a keen sense of the obvious with a burst of common-sense. But that is, perhaps, to much to hope for. Being driven by temporal profit is very much a part of the carnal human experience and until we hear repentance and Biblical faith we have no reason to believe, that if the tide turns, that many will not turn with it and become caught up again in the insane ideas of the past four years. Someone has defined insanity as keeping on making the same moves but expecting different results. We are desperately in need of sound minds with a keen common sense of the obvious.
A sound mind is one that thinks realistically, with eternity in view. When we yield to God He will keep that sound mind healthy, alive, and well. Understanding that none of us are here to stay, a sound mind prepares accordingly.
Romans chapter 12 gives us the key to a sound mind that thinks realistically; verse 2; ‘’And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.’’
We are made for another world…
