Life Matters - May 10, 2023

“We have to hear what people mean, not just what they say.” That helpful one-liner from my background, when applied to President Biden’s ad as he begins his campaign bid for a second term in office, is disturbing to say the least. “Let’s finish the job” has a nice ring to it until and unless we consider the unsteady destabilization this administration has already accomplished in the overall national morals, economy, southern border control etc. of America, while pushing for more federal government control over what we drive, how we cook our food, what we inject into our bodies, how elections are done etc.. All that, coupled with what appears to be a sinister push for globalism and one could wish he would just (to partially quote another one-liner) “say what he means and mean what he says.” Going on what this President has stood for or against so far; what he means when he says “people should have the right to love who they want to love” translates into supporting LGBTQ+ and whatever else perverse ideologies being pushed onto the rest of us. When he talks about the importance of access to “women’s health care” what he really means is that access to the aborted killings of healthy babies in the womb of healthy mothers should have federal protections and support across all states. At whatever stage in pregnancy and for whatever reason. “All Americans should be able to vote” he says but has been very vocal about his opposition to voter integrity laws in various states that merely make it more difficult for non-citizens to vote and puts a check on electronic and drop-box voter fraud. And a check on “ballot-harvesting.” So in reality his policies make voter fraud easier, killing babies more accessible, all manner of sexual perversions more acceptable, upends the original intent of laws such as Title IX, the intent of which was the protection of women. Worst of all is how his policies encourage the conscience-desensitizing of innocent children by sexual perverts, even in public school, while still being in opposition to school choice. His policies have pushed us toward alignment with a globalist agenda pushing toward a one-world government, a one-world currency (digital) and (perhaps ignorantly) a one-world religion. Bring in the rapid advance of AI technology and his intent for the rest of this term, much less a second four years, and we seem very much on the brink of a sinister national sell-out to globalism and “far-left” evil.  

Perhaps (and I pray so) God will yet be merciful to us. Perhaps this one term of Biden after one term of Trump is God being merciful in allowing us to see the contrast of one being blunt and honest, the other being smooth and deceptive. The one with policies based on the U.S. Constitution, the other…? We can only guess… from which I’ll refrain. For now. The one acknowledges the Bible to be the standard of Truth, the other…? well, considering his policies it appears he believes truth to be determined by the pleasure receptors in our brains and that not even a God-given pleasure pulsing with true genuine love, but the narcissistic kind turned inward upon oneself. True genuine love has pleasure woven into its very life while the seeking after pleasure as an end in itself will eventually leave the seeker empty, dry, and without hope as he/she is without God in this world. Let’s not finish the job this President is doing.  

The longer I live in this world the more thankful I am for truth and as truth becomes increasingly treated like a disposable commodity by the administration of Biden, may we not be consumed with disgust but rather turn our attention to God and His Word. While the Holy Bible does have parts that are difficult to understand we can trust that from His eternal perspective God always “says what He means and means what He says.” Let us not be overtaken by the deception of this age nor the upheaval of our feelings but commit ourselves to God and His Word. The Truth. As Jesus said to the Jews and to all of us in John Ch. 8 verses 31-32. “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Life Matters!
