Life Matters - October 30, 2024
The Democrat campaign platform for election is still revolving around ‘’Trump is an existential threat to democracy’’ even as their own candidate running for the office of U.S. President levels her indirect hidden threats against what is commonly referred to as democracy. She is a vocal supporter of bloated government controls over what is now a free market and free speech. A vocal supporter of what is being referred to as ‘’lawfare’’ i.e. crushing political opponents via the courts by activist party members supported by activist media. A vocal supporter of Black Lives Matter rioters, saying that the unrest causing thirty-five deaths, two billion dollars in property damages,1500 law enforcement officers injured while arresting 14,000 offenders ‘’will not and should not stop’’ while drumming up support for the ‘’Minnesota Freedom Fund’’ to bail out jailed offenders. A vocal supporter of anti-Israel pro-Palestinian protestors, a vocal supporter of ‘’compassionate’’ open borders, a vocal supporter of LGBTQ+ whatever else, a vocal supporter of the culture trying to sell beer depicting a transgender person on the can while being the same culture offended by Aunt Jemima on a pancake syrup bottle, a vocal supporter of tax-payer funded ‘’gender-affirming care’’ including surgeries for illegal immigrants and—get this—American school children, a vocal supporter of teacher’s unions bloated with cash flowing into an LGBTQ+ education agenda, a vocal supporter of school officials being given more authority over school children’s gender and pronoun preferences than the parents, a vocal supporter of abortion-on-demand, a vocal supporter of every bad policy (so it seems) coming down the pike. The idea that she can get this close to the White House would have been unthinkable in the saner, more Bible-based America I was born into on that July day of 1960.
The agenda obscured behind the smokescreen of ‘’Trump is bad’’ seems fearful of showing itself in the light of day. Let us not be deceived, the thinly veiled present attempt at moderation is, by all appearances, merely a knee-jerk reaction to a fear-of-man desperation to gain votes, unless she publicly repents of those afore-stated beliefs and policies. Consider; why did ‘’fact-checkers’’ not show up until the truth started getting out? Why did Biden/Harris then ‘’see the need’’ for a Disinformation Governance Board? Praise God it is off the table. For now. But we haven’t heard any repentance. Never trust a government to be the arbiter of truth. ‘’They (governments) don’t ban hate-speech, they ban speech they hate.’’- Elon Musk
‘’There are no easy answers, but there are simple answers. We must have the courage to do what we know is morally right.’’ -Ronald Reagan. Those words apply well today, as always. Our conscience attaches itself to the highest good that we know and we instinctively know moral right from wrong. Unless our conscience has been defiled or our brains washed clear of it.
How can we know that our conscience is properly attuned to right and wrong? Again, there are no easy answers, but there is a simple one. Know your Bible. Be into God’s Word. Pray. Search and inquire diligently for the illumination of God’s Word by His Holy Spirit, the understanding being enlightened through being born again. Be a part, and involved in, a Bible-believing church where brothers and sisters love each other enough to minister to each other in spirit, soul, and body. Where the ‘’law of Christ’’ (Romans 8:2 -1 Corinthians 9:21) is taken seriously and applied. God is Love and it is by His Spirit that we can rightly love each other. His Love binds us together. His Love unifies purpose, goals, gives us a common incentive to spring from, gives meaning to life, as well as to the end of our life here which is a necessary valley to go through as it opens up to the next realm which is eternal.
‘’Except a corn [kernel] of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone,’’ Jesus tells us ‘’but if it die it bringeth forth much fruit…” (John 12:24) Jesus knew at this point that he was not far from the time of his death, was not far from Gethsemane, where the surrender of ages took place. Where he sweated through giving up his own will—his very life—to the Father. Where he himself did as he instructed us to do; to hate our own selfish will, our own life, by surrendering to our Father-God, giving all to Him, as a seed that dies in the ground and in the process releases the God-given life within it to bring forth much fruit. Jesus has eternal Life within Himself, a Life that He imparts to us when we surrender all to God the Father. To Jesus Christ, Whom He has sent. Surrender, in Biblical context, includes our whole person, the spirit being our mind and will, the soul being our mind and emotions, and our body relating to our material world here.
I do not know who will be declared the winner on November 5th, 2024, but I do know, by the Word of God, that either way the Christian faith will continue to be targeted. If Harris wins, the devil would be more loose, more overt, with Trump that same devil will be more contained, more covert. Neither candidate can offer a life free from the devil’s temptations. Neither can offer us paradise.
Having said that, the idea that Harris has been one step away from taking over the oval office and now is possibly as close as she appears in the polls, is an indictment on how low we—as in, America—have fallen. Trump is not perfect, but his policies are clearly closer to the Bible. The devil and his desperado minions are resorting to inciting violence, by their ungodly rhetoric, that include Trump being as Hitler incarnated. Even after two assassination attempts on Trump’s life. Such incitements are a threat to democracy. Be not deceived, the devil wants Harris-appointed cross-hairs on all that is good.
There is one simple, a very personal, answer—Jesus the Christ—His kingdom within.
