What is a man? How did we get from Bible-reading and prayer in the public schools of yesteryear to having drag “queen” story hour in some (if not many by now) of those same schools? How did we get from homosexuals rioting at Stonewall in 1969 to over-the-hill men marching in a U.S. government honored “pride” parade, naked except for hats and sandals in June of 2023? How did we get from the Walter Cronkites of yesterday’s factual reporting to the left-pandering propaganda of today? To fact-reporting journalists on the political front being few and far between? How did we get from “Honest Abe” politics to a POTUS whose policies are anti-American and his speeches cannot be trusted?

As a father myself I have a lot of compassion for fathers with unfaithful sons. Even though my own sons are faithful and upright men by now, who were formerly faithful boys, I have known travail, even worry at times, as they were growing up and I observed the world becoming increasingly inhabited by loose and worldly-minded people coupled with knowing the personal temptations I myself have faced and yielded to enough to often need repentance. So let’s face it, when a man calls his own son “the smartest man I know,” men, especially fathers, sit up and pay attention. At least, this father did. I also noticed that it was said of a son who had visually recorded his own extreme immorality that included multiple prostitutes and cocaine. The comforting thought to me has been that Hunter Biden had come clean, that he was repentant and on the mend. But as the house oversight committee follows the money and the allegations of corruption deepen in the Biden family, including allegations of “money-laundering” through “shell” companies, with the money eventually ending up in various accounts with the last name of Biden, my concern and I trust, the concern of America as a whole, deepens. Especially given the starting points of the so-laundered money. And for “what service did Hunter “earn” those millions?” remains an open question given his late addictions coupled with his lack of expertise in fields of the companies by which he was paid those millions. According to the house oversight committee the only “service” possibility so far is influence peddling, or at least the appearance of it, via then vice president Joe Biden and possibly even leading to his present position of U.S. President. It increasingly appears as if the young man’s “smarts” were and maybe still are, being abused for the corrupt, and possibly mutual, sellout of America’s second highest and possibly the highest, office in the land. And it increasingly appears that the answers are at the ends of a purposely confused money trail.

In the meantime the hounding of our 45th president and his family seems never-ending. There are few things more dangerous to the pursuit of justice than a corrupt government who “has” its man, but is in desperate search of a crime. These continued attempts to drag the Trump name through the mud then hang it out to dry in the withering winds of public opinion have the characteristics of distraction tactics only thinly veiled by a demagogue-driven smirking call for “justice.” Thinly veiled, as in, purposely attacking a front-runner as we approach another election year. Smirking, as in, a lack of seriousness about the waste of time, and smirking, as in, the literal smirking of the judge presiding over the case in New York. As I recall, Donald Trump does have the honestly acquired financial resources to just walk away and have a nice life.

As the alphabet mob root for Joe Biden, I have a feeling Honest Abe would be rooting for one Donald J. Trump. He is but a man and as such is not totally trustworthy, as none of us are. But there is something about this man’s tenacity for Truth in the face of adversity that tells me this is more than a zeitgeist, (time-spirit) that this is a struggle for the minds of men. And that its backdrop is spiritual warfare. Life Matters!
