Life Matters - July 12, 2023

The wagon train going east through Pennsylvania with its leading scouts and outriders on horseback, its prairie schooners, its Conestoga wagons with festive “mule skinners,” friends or family aboard, mules patiently plodding, were one of many to arrive and congregate at Valley Forge, PA. And no, this was not 1776, it was July 3, 1976. From as far away as Washington State, these wagoneers had come, retracing the journey “back to their roots.” To celebrate the 200th anniversary of liberation from the British crown, a 200th anniversary marked by celebrations, excitement, and even a full-size liberty bell replica gifted by Brits and courtesy of its then monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.

This past week, on July 4, 2023, we passed another celebration of that momentous event, the signing of the Declaration of Independence, on July 4, 1776. Now in the third century since then, we are also in the second century since the Civil War, which means my grandparents, my parents, now my generation, have not seen war on American soil. There have been wars, yes, and  many Americans have given their lives for American freedoms, but none of those battles have been on home turf. The Brits forgave us, America has prospered.

But there has been a war going on, a “battle for the soul of the nation” as President Biden quoted for a speech in 2022 at Independence Hall, Philadelphia, PA. Railing against those in opposition to his ungodly policies, he forcefully said, “MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards—backwards to an America where there is no more right to choose” (abortion-on-demand), “no right to privacy” (an accusation leveled at the “high court“ after Roe v. Wade was overturned), “no right to contraception” (a reference to opposition to his plan for expanding access to contraceptives via imposing new rules on insurance companies, whether private or public, to overall and specifically make the same more accessible to university students and employees while supporting research and data analysis on contraception access. Paid for by average Americans through taxes and/or premiums) and “no right to marry who you love” (same sex marriage legalized and protected by the U.S. Government). Parenthesize are mine, so to read his direct quote they need to be excluded. I took this liberty because Biden has made it very clear, multiple times over, what he meant by those covert statements, both in his speeches and by his policies. I’ve done the research but you may want to do yours.

The Biden/Harris administration is the most publicly supportive coalition for LGBTQ+ goals and agendas U.S. citizens have ever paid with our tax dollars. In 1999, then U.S. President Bill Clinton declared June (June was chosen in commemoration of the “gay” Stonewall riots in June of 1969) to be gay and lesbian Pride Month. In 2009 then-President Barrack Obama expanded Pride Month for bisexuals and transgenders to include the whole LGBT “community.” Under President Biden’s policies and actions that “celebration” has been expanded yet again to include more letters and then symbols. Where is this going? Joe Biden, doing the ostrich maneuver, expresses himself as if it is, and will be, about love and compassion, a notion that Biblical precept, God in His Word, both Old and New Testaments, shreds with His two-edged sword. In this battle between God and Joe Biden, who will win? This is a question I would not even ask if the struggle were not so real. May we all say with Joshua, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” God is omnipotent.

At the first Pride parade in 1970, a young male reveler was recorded saying, “At least we’re being good for the population explosion.” Fifty-three years later, in June of this year, Pride parade revelers in New York City (drag “queens”) chanted, “we’re here, we’re queer, we’re coming for your children.” “Oh, they don’t really mean it,” says the liberal media, “they’ve been chanting this for years.” Oh, but they do mean it, as they keep proving by their actions. As does the U.S. Department of Education, under whose protective auspices the religion of secularism is the only religion allowed in public schools. The only change has been outward. From yesteryear’s eviction of Christianity to evolution being the only allowed creed of today, from the miniskirt uniforms of yesteryear, to male performers dressed as sensual women today, the religion of secular humanism has been the only “value” framework formally accepted by those controlling the public school system. It’s time to go back. Back to the Bible. It’s the only positive way forward.
