The Covid pandemic… Whether that despicable virus was purposely released as a bioweapon, or no, the resulting lockdowns, schoolroom closures, limits on church attendance, vaccine mandates, the maskings, social distancing, business closures as “non-essential,” the loss of business as a whole, etc. has clearly shown us the mind control that is possible when fear is stoked and its flames fanned by government propaganda disseminated via digital media. My personal opinion is that the best approach is to give the Chinese a reasonable benefit of the doubt while “keeping an eye” on that distant Behemoth. And Dr. Anthony Fauci with his indirect connection to the Wuhan “gain of function” research.

Before people criss-crossed this globe, via land and air, the fires lit by children “playing with fire” stayed more localized, but as the fires of Covid have well demonstrated for us, when a virus escapes a gain-of-function lab now the whole world may be engulfed by its “flames” in a matter of days. Researching a way for a deadly (known to be, at that) virus to gain the ability to function in an environment not native to its own existence may seem reasonable to believers in the evolution of species by natural selection, but as a believer in God who created us there is no justifiable reason to be playing with these fires whose stokers seem devoid of love for their neighbors as well as of common sense.

There is, however, another virus, another fire, being lit and let loose on this orb. A virus that may well spin out of control one day. I speak here of the virus of artificial intelligence. In the development of advancing technology there has been no field to date of which good people, with only good for their fellowman in mind, have had a monopoly. Bad actors have always taken advantage of whatever technology available to achieve whatever controlling, wicked plans they may have in mind for their own selfish ends. We have no reason to believe this is to be any different.

“The virus” and “climate change” with both their ensuing furor and adherence to fear by the “faithful” would never (my own finite observation) have become so driven by angst had not the governments of this world, influencing each other at the World Economic Forum, become the drivers of that debilitating, destabilizing, demoralizing fear. Which brings to mind a Ronald Regan quote that “The most terrifying words in the English language are: ‘I’m from the Government and I’m here to help.’” When worldly governments no longer see, nor accept, the limitations inherent in such governing bodies, so history teaches us, fear becomes the weapon of choice.

From ancient times the most powerful governments have been those who paid focused attention to the development of military weapons of war and the development of agile young men with superior strength and stamina. Seeking to secure peace through strength. Those officials who have not remained satisfied with a government limited to the material welfare of their constituents have turned the weapons of war and men inward to force a, yes, debilitating, destabilizing, demoralizing fear upon those over whom they gained ascendence to protect. Thus, turning from protection to control. When protection by governments loses its appeal of responsibility to any governing body the resulting void is quickly filled by the desire to control. Whether the control platform to spring from is a virus, climate change, a misinformation governance board, seizure of bank accounts, communications cancellations, media manipulations, or a government board to regulate artificial intelligence, if and when governments are driven by a desire to control the narrative and the national conservation, there is no place to turn to for that control but to fear, so demoralizing its people that they fall in line.

“But ye have not so learned Christ.” (Ephesians 4:20) Just laws bring fear to those who are guilty. That is the way law should work. When the wretched, guilty sinner “turns himself in” to God’s Law there is a remedy, Jesus Christ the Righteous, who bore the penalty for our sins to reconcile us to God. It is a reconciliation that sets us free from the fear of man and a freedom to enjoy life and its God-given blessings. Freedom to voluntarily accept and submit to God’s authority and to love and be part of the family of God. Freedom to love God with a reverential fear that honors Him above all else.
