Our 45th President, Donald J. Trump, trusted the American people’s ability to make common sense decisions to make a living, educate our children, and to be guardians of our own health. We continue to appreciate it.
Have you ever wondered what it would look like to attempt herding a gaggle of bald eagles into a chicken house with cattle prods? Look no further; our present POTUS has given us an object lesson with his attempt to herd freedom-loving Americans with needles and verbal accusations. Fight or flight. Confusion.
America’s education system teaches “survival of the fittest,” yet we have a POTUS who has been pushing confusing vaccine mandates as if our very existence depends on it. Thank God for the SCOTUS ruling against OSHA-enforced vaccines. But which is it? Christianity teaches that we should care for the weak and sickly among us. Evolution teaches that the reason we exist is because the fittest survive. So, which is it? If the Evolution of life is right, we should let the weakest die from COVID. If Christianity is right, then we should “bear one another’s burdens” because our physical frailties do show through at times and will ultimately overtake all of us. So, which is it?
I chose, and continue to choose, the latter. Why? Because the evidence is overwhelming. Because of what I see. Because of what I hear. Because of His influence upon my heart, life, and mind. Which means I believe on Jesus, Son of God, my Savior, my Redeemer, by faith in His name. I am committed to Him. I am committed to His Truth. He is Truth. I have no objection to being called religious. “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” (James 1:27) We are called to care for the weaker among us. We are also called to take care of these bodies that God gave us.
The Theory of Evolution, by its very title, is a theory. A theory of how life as we know it evolved from lower forms (of life???). Where the original life form comes from has yet to be discovered by these believers in Evolution. And yet. And yet the theory continues to be adhered to religiously by those who religiously believe it. They continue to build theory upon the shifting sands being washed out from under them by the global flood of Noah’s day. Despite growing evidence of a catastrophic world-wide flood, Evolutionists continue to depend on circular reasoning to arrive at conclusions to support the “facts” built on theory. Such a commitment to a set of ideas cannot be rightfully deemed scientific, but is religious (false religions do exist) in construct and nature.
So, how shall we relate to COVID amidst this confusing push to be vaccinated for it and its expansion of variants? The same way followers of Christ have always related to physical threats of harm. First, Jesus Christ is our life. Second, continue to face the reality that 100% of us are not here to stay. Thirdly, show respect for these bodies that God gave us by doing our best to keep our immune systems strong and staying physically fit. And fourthly, endeavor to age gracefully while being ready to go at any time. Keep up the good fight and take courage by depending on our Lord Jesus Christ. Courage is being eager to live, yet ready to die. As Christians, we have a readily available source of courage that is “out of this world.” Its source resides in Jesus Christ. In Him is peace. In Him is vision for this life and readiness for the next. He is our Courage in life. And our Courage when we face our last enemy. Death. In the meantime, let us do our best to stay healthy. Eat right, sleep right, stay active, keep herbs and vitamins on hand. And if we need the vaccine we have it available. But this push to herd us all into “following the science”—when the “science” depends on the word of Fauci/Biden—comes across as false religion, not science. Avoid confusion. Follow Jesus, the Way, the Truth, and the Life! Life Matters!
